MASTER MAKING

Many designs are hand carved by a skilled craftsperson using an assortment of tools to sculpt the idea from a solid block of wax, the same way a sculptor creates a statue from a solid block of stone.

CASTING PREPARATION – STEP 2

Once solidified around the waxes, the flask will be placed in a furnace and the wax completely burns out, leaving an exact negative void of the original waxes.

ROUGH CASTING

The experienced setter, using skill, patience and judgment, places diamonds and other gemstones into the design, where they are held in place by prongs, beads, channels, bezels, and other forms of setting.

ASSEMBLY

Many cast jewelry items require further assembly of parts, such as prongs, findings and two-tone components. Accurate assembly is only possible by precise brazing using a jeweler’s torch.
